Google, Yahoo! and MSN all using the same sitemap protocol! In a world (designing for web, SEOing for web, Mac, PC, etc) where many thing don’t get along this is pretty big.

For users, Sitemaps enables higher quality, fresher search results. An initiative initially driven by Yahoo! and Google, Sitemaps builds upon the pioneering Sitemaps 0.84, released by Google in June of 2005, which is now being adopted by Yahoo! and Microsoft to offer a single protocol to enhance Web crawling efforts.

IE 7 hack. This is just from one person’s opinion based on one project. But it seemed to work fine in FF, IE6 and IE7 on the PC. I have yet to test on the Mac.
Step 1 - define a style sheet for IE 7
Define the style sheet like so in the head. Position it as the last css called.
<!––[if IE 7]>
<link rel=”stylesheet” type=”text/css” href=”scripts/iespecific.css” />
< ![endif]––>
Step 2 - define your classes
In the css change the “xx” to your class or div id:
html>body #xx
html>body .xx
Hopefully this will help you in designing for IE 7.

You know how some people step on the gas as they are approaching a red light?
That’s how my last few week at NYU are looking. There’s a definite finish line as of December 22, but that doesn’t mean things are winding down. To the contrary. Some of the highlights for the next 7 weeks include 3 group presentations, 2 or 3 finals and my culminating experience paper.
As a result of the ever shinking timeline and compressed hours in the day, I’m converting the reading of one of my books from paperback to audio. I know I won’t be highlighting and taking notes as I listen, which could affect the amount of information that sticks in my head, but at least I won’t be blowing off the reading, or listening in this case.
I bought the book on iTunes, not because I’m 100% pro Apple, though I do see many bonuses in their thinking (some bummers too, sorry Steve.) but because I simply couldn’t find it anywhere else online. It came up in the iTunes Store in seconds and downloaded to iTunes with a little bit of trouble shooting. I’m sold.

This is the perfect example of a good use of Flash and how you can spend countless hours wasting time online.
My high score…

Or you can play the slighly bloody version here and try to beat this score…
